Import from MIDI and MusicXML. Next to ”+ New song” in the song list, “Import from file” reads .mid, .midi, .musicxml, .xml and .mxl. A confirmation dialog comes first: it shows the bar count, the notes per part, how many notes will be quantized so they can be written, and how many cannot be imported at all, so you decide before the song is created. MusicXML also carries chords, lyrics and repeat marks (MIDI brings notes plus tempo, time signature and key). The file is read entirely in your browser — the file itself is never sent to the server.
When you try accolva without signing in, the first visit now asks where you want to start: a blank score, or a file you already have. The song still stays on your device.
Reorder parts. The ↑↓ buttons on each row of “Manage parts” move a staff up or down. With two vocal parts, the lyrics follow whichever one is now first.
Change a part’s instrument. A staff you started as guitar can become bass or keys later. The notes stay; only what the new instrument cannot say is dropped (string assignments, and techniques that need frets). Drums are the exception: a drum part cannot be changed, and no other part can become one.

The first row of the input pad (quantize, note value, tuplet) now folds. The ⌃ at the right end folds it and gives that height to the keyboard or grid; the values in effect stay readable as text while it is folded.
Score zoom now fits more bars at 100% — what used to look like about 60% is the new 100% — and the steps go up to 250% and 300%, so the largest view is larger than before.
The ■ button in the play bar now does two things. While the song is sounding it only stops, and ▶ resumes from the same place. When nothing is sounding, it rewinds to the start of the range being played. Until now, stopping also threw away the start bar you had picked with the bar-step buttons.
The TAB staff no longer draws stems, beams or tuplet brackets. In “Staff + TAB” the rhythm is stated by the staff above — the classic shape for TAB.
The home page and the sign-in page now use the same backdrop as the product page, and spacing, borders, shadows and motion were revised across the app.

Fixed no sound on iPhone and iPad (the play button could also hang on “Loading”). Playback is no longer silenced by the ring/silent switch either.
Fixed score rendering: a 1/12-of-a-beat offset could turn everything after it into rests, and a dotted sixteenth could collapse into a sextuplet. A note that cannot be fretted is now drawn as an × rather than a rest, since a rest is an instruction to stay silent.
Fixed the freeze on songs of around 120 bars while the score redraws. Drawing and measuring are now split across frames, so the longest single pause is about 0.7 seconds.
Fixed the untouched “Untitled” trial song coming back in Japanese after switching the display language to English on that device. A song you have already written in keeps its text whatever language you switch to.

Some things are not carried over on import. Velocity never is; from MIDI, chords and lyrics are not either. A song has a single tempo and a single lyric lane, so tempo changes mid-song and any second lyric line are dropped. Anything past 300 bars is dropped as well (the limit on every plan). Files can be up to 8 MB.
An imported song is created as a new song, so it counts against your plan’s song count.
The zoom level is remembered per device. With this release’s new baseline, a remembered number shows a different amount than it did before.
No change to the save format. Existing songs and share links open as they always did.
